Fall brings yet another aspect of outdoor activity.  The air turns crisper, the days shorter, and one can view the migration of birds, bears readying for hibernation, the colors of the autumn folliage, and the beginning of hunting season.

But when the snow melts and things get green, Vemdalen does not close down as many other well known ski areas; it goes into a whole new mode. Spring and Summer brings the filling of creeks and streams with the runoff of melting snow, herding of reindeer northwards, the waking of bears, and generally a whole new level of wildlife activity. This means a greater chance of sighting moose, beaver, fox, birds, bear, etc. in their natural habitats. To help facilitate this, there are hiking and biking trails, arranged safaris for viewing bear, moose, or beaver, and outdoor equipment rental (tent, canoe, boat, fishing, bicycle, etc) available. As the summer progresses, the woods provide many opportunities for picking berries and mushrooms during your hikes. Of course, one of the most popular attractions is fishing in many of the lakes and streams in and around Vemdalen.
